U.S. Air Force test pilots and engineers are currently wrapping up testing and development on the F-15SA Super Eagle to be delivered to the air forces in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The F-15SA combines features of the F-15E Strike Eagle with others of the F-15SE Silent Eagle.
These new F-15SA models boast upgraded avionics with glass cockpit touch screens, the ability to operate their radars and Electronic Warfare (EW) jammers without one interfering with the other, and improved underwing stores carriage.
It’s amazing how the sharp minds of the military and the companies that support it are constantly using their brains and working to provide the latest and greatest technology not only to our own services, but to the militaries of our allies too.
What does this mean for you as a future U.S. military fighter pilot? It means that one of your missions as an experienced fighter pilot is going to be not only the testing and development of new and upgraded aircraft like the F-15SA, but also to serve as training officers to the pilots of our allies after their delivery. In the case of the F-15SA, we’re talking about at least 7 years (from a formal order for 84 of these aircraft placed in March 2012 to their projected delivery in 2019.) It’s a pretty big job that these Air Force pilots have taken.
Upgrades to our aircraft and systems are happening in all of the services all the time, and it’s up to our personnel to stay current with them. As a future fighter pilot, you can practice getting and staying current right now by hitting your local library or book store to stay current on the latest developments to the aircraft of whichever service you’ve got your eye on. It’s up to you to find the right information…and we can give you exactly that!
On the Afterburner Club, we can teach you all about where to find the best information on aircraft systems and components that you simply won’t find anywhere else! In addition you’ll get the latest info on the services’ current requirements for jet flying.
We’ve taken away all excuses for you not to be fully prepared for a selection board when you pursue your dream, so go for it now! You will be testing and training our allies on the next new batch of improved jet fighters!
