LOOKING FOR GOOD INFO ON BECOMING A FIGHTER PILOT: THE PITFALLS OF THE WEB!
When I started this Club, and when I developed the Fighter Pilot Power Pack my motivation was to provide young men and women who wanted to be fighter pilots with accurate and useful information that would get them into the career they had always dreamed of. If you have found this blog or are already a member of the Afterburner Club, then congratulations!
You have managed to wade your way through a whole lot of out-dated, incomplete, and just plain bad information that exists on the World Wide Web about how to become a fighter pilot! I recently did a search for information about becoming a fighter pilot and thought that I would give you all a heads up on some of the major pitfalls you may encounter when looking for free information online.
If you do a basic Google search for “become a fighter pilot”, or fighter pilot training” the top search results are often from websites such as Hubpages, ezinearticles, and eHow.
While there is nothing inherently wrong with these websites and the content on them, you should be aware of a few things before using the information you may find in these articles.
The primary purpose of these sites is to make money through something called Search Engine Optimization. The content itself is not what is of value, but where it ranks on search engine results for the purposes of advertising. The authors of these articles are often not experts, and frankly most of the information you’ll find there is wrong.
Wikipedia is another source of information that comes up on searches for info on becoming a fighter pilot, and while this information is usually more accurate that what you’ll find from the other article sites, there is little useful information about the steps you’ll need to take to become a fighter pilot.
I’ll be honest with you all! Becoming a fighter pilot takes a lot of work, determinations and commitment, and wasting your time with bad information will make the task more difficult.
This blog will help you, but ultimately joining the Afterburner Club will make the task of finding all the information you’ll need to compete for your flight slot easier and faster!
