One of the most amazing developments that has come up in the JSF program is the creation of an amazing weapon that matches the awesomeness of the plane carrying it: the F-35 Lightning II. And that is the Joint Strike Missile!
The JSM is designed for both Ant-Surface Warfare and Naval Fire Support in both open land and open sea. Talk about versatility!
It had the ability to scan the geography of the area, fly in close terrain avoiding obstacles and can even discriminate between targets and non-targets.
Needless to say, this is a pretty amazing weapon that they’ve developed, and its path towards reaching its target is not unlike your own journey into the cockpit of that F-35 that you’ll be flying should you ever have to fire one.
Pursuing the goal of becoming a fighter pilot isn’t one of those things where you “walk the straight and the narrow” and work to stay the course from the time you decide to be a fighter pilot to the time you are actually assigned as one. It’s more like the zig-zag kind of maneuvering through the terrain to get to your goal.
Once you commit to the goal of becoming a fighter pilot, you may have a specific plan that you want to follow. You may already know what service you want to join, which commissioning program you want to pursue, and which jet you would like to be selected for.
But as usually happens in life, it’s not going to go the way you may be thinking at the moment. In fact, it’s a 95% probability that it won’t. You’re going to hit some sort of stumbling block along the way that will be completely out of your control. It could be related to your health, openings in a certain commissioning program or the needs of the service.
When this happens, you need a backup plan. In fact, you’re probably going to need several of them. You will need to learn to be flexible and maneuverable and zig-zag your way towards the goal.
That’s what the Afterburner Club is for…to provide you with ALL of the relevant information and routes to becoming a fighter pilot so that you know what all of your options are and formulate your own Plan B, Plan C, Plan D, and so on…
The Joint Strike Missile is one persistent weapon! No doubt about that. And the services are going to want an equally persistent pilot to fly the mission where it is going to be used. Show that you have that persistence as well as the initiative to fire onto your own course for success.
Start zig-zagging your way into that cockpit of the jet of your dreams and join us on the Afterburner Club!
