EVERYONE operates from fear. Every single person.
It’s about pushing through them. Easier said than done, right?
Everyone creates excuses for why they can’t do certain things.
I’m not smart enough, I’m too old, my family wouldn’t approve.
It’s human nature.
You have to dig deeper and get in touch with WHY.
People typically operate from one thing… looking good, and trying not to look bad.
Simply put, you don’t want to fail. News flash folks, NO ONE DOES.
Sure, you risk failing, but isn’t it worth the risk?
You can’t succeed or fail if you never try in the first place. You have little problems in your life, as we all do. Bills, family issues, etc., right?
You need to create a bigger problem.
Hear me out.
What are you doing now?
I don’t mean to get too personal, but is it worth your life?
You need create a problem that’s worth living for.
The beauty of joining the most elite fighting force in the world is that you are taking on a problem bigger than yourself. THAT is worth your stress.
Freedom is much bigger than financial problems and a flat tire. You know I’m right.
So sit down and take on a problem. A BIG ONE!
Make the little dash between your birthdate and your end date WORTH something.
When it’s all said and done, we are all going to die at some point.
Really, what do you want to do between now and then?
That’s really the choice, and we here at The Afterburner Club know it’s possible because WE’VE seen it happen over and over again.
It is a simple CHOICE.
The satisfaction you’ll get from pursuing your dream, whatever that may be, is worth pushing the fear aside. You have the capability to do AMAZING things if you break free of the limits your fears are placing on you.
If you want to fly fighters, DO IT.
Take on the steps NOW, because LATER means NEVER.
Every time a fear pops up, remind yourself that the guys in flight training ALL had that fear. I PROMISE you they did. You DO have time, you ARE smart enough, and you CAN succeed.
Please, for your own sake, don’t make those things an excuse.
We KNOW you can do it. Start taking the steps and give your whole self to the process.
If it doesn’t work, sure you’ll be heart broken, but that’s the beauty in living… being able to connect with something 100% and knowing you did EVERYTHING you could to achieve it.
And when that time comes, and you look back on your life, you’ll be glad you tried.

A quote that I forgot to include:
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

better to fight for something than live for nothing

This is truly inspiring, I usually never make excuses and take the fullest responsibility to myself for every action. When something must be done: IT MUST BE DONE, no matter what the situation.
