When you go into the service and attend boot camp and flight training, it’s like a moment of truth. It’s the trial by fire where you prove that you do indeed have what it takes to fly the most sophisticated and most expensive planes in the air, where you prove that you can physically endure the g-forces of combat flying, and where you show that you have the leadership skills necessary to lead troops when you’re not flying.
As you go through all of this, your performance is being evaluated to determine which pipeline best suites both your talents and the needs of the service. You are then selected into one of three “pipelines” (for the Navy and Marine Corps) or two “tracks” (if you are Air Force.)
The three pipelines of the Navy/Marine Corps aviators are “helo” for helicopters, “maritime” for the guys who will be flying the turboprops, and of course “jets”, which is the main goal for us here on the Afterburner Club. “Jets” includes not just fighters, but also attack craft and any other axial-flow turbine powered aircraft that may be launched off of an aircraft carrier.
The tracks of the Air Force are similar. Since the Air Force doesn’t fly helicopters (they leave that to the Army), you can expect to go one of two tracks as a pilot: Air Combat Command (ACC) or Air Mobility Command (AMC). ACC are the fighter and bomber boys and AMC fly the cargo planes and transports.
This is a pretty basic view of how graduates’ assignments will be handed out as you and your flight class approach graduation from advanced flight training.
And it’s an understatement that not everybody comes away happy.
Obviously, not everybody who goes through flight school is going to get jets. Somebody has to fly those other planes and only the best graduates go to their dream plane. And depending on the needs of the service, it may be quite a few out of that class or only the top two.
That’s why it is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL that you start your training NOW, well ahead of time and learn what to expect from this phase of your next career so well that by the time you actually get to flight school, it will all be remedial to you!
That’s what the Afterburner Club is here for. We will teach you EXACTLY what to expect from boot camp and flight school. And you will learn it straight from the voice of people who have actually been there and done it!
Another trait that the services look favorably upon is initiative! That means you have to be the type of person who TAKES ACTION NOW!
So don’t wait! Take that action right now and sign on with the Afterburner Club today!
