This month on our Afterburner Club call I have a very special guest. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 19th at 4pm for an amazing call with an amazing guest: Lt. Col. Robert “Stambo” Stambovsky.
Col. Stambovsky is a former Marine aviator with 39 years experience in wartime and in flight test. He started out getting commissioned from the ranks during the Vietnam War, where he flew in F-4’s and also served as a flight test engineer.
After the conflict ended, he took his experience and went to work for NASA and the DOD in Flight Test Engineering and was given the opportunity to fly the F/A-18 early on in its development program.
Col. Stambovsky also instructs in foreign jet trainers from his business on Fox Field in Lancaster, CA., teaching in aircraft such as the L-29, L-39, and the HA-200.
Col. Stambovsky is a pilot with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and today is an adjunct professor there. He has logged over 4000 hours in several types of aircraft including the A-4 Skyhawk, the F-4 Phantom II, and the F/A-18. Now he’s graciously agreed to share his experience with you on the Afterburner Club.
